Another experiment from Liz Nilsson's screenprinting workshop. I was trying to use in a different way the screen with circles I had prepared for this design, and somehow the mesh got blocked so I got these 'faulty' print with some not printed spots. It's one of those frequent cases when chance makes things better :-)
One of the most interesting activities I've been doing this year was the screenprinting course at Liz Nilsson's studio here in Dublin. The course consisted of six lessons and during this time the basics of screenprinting on textiles were explained, as well as some notions of pattern design. We did some very creative guided exercises, but most of the time we were free of experimenting our own ideas. This is another moodboard I made for a "client" - role played by my friend Elena- for my Interior Design course, describing her personality and taste. As a good Italian she loves sun, sea and food. She's very interested in buddhism and meditation, other cultures and social cooperation. Her house would be full of colour. And she's a great singer too!
One of the exercises of my Interior Design course was to make a moodboard for a "client" -in this case a person of the course played the role of the client- describing her personality after a short interview with her. My client was a woman in her late thirties, mother of four, with a keen interest in art and design. She also was a very active and dynamic person, that likes natural, organic things.
