Too late for wool?

These days you can feel the spring is round the corner, so it seemed a better idea to use cotton for my next weaving project. What looks like navy blue in the picture is actually a nice purple colour in reality, but I couldn't get it right with my camera....

Batik and me

This is a batik piece I made on silk. I've been learning this technique in the Textile Dyeing workshop at school. I'd like to show a quick photo sequence of the process as I learned it: 1. Preparing the wax by melting it together with paraffin and filtering....

Batik lamps

A few of my experiments in batik , a textile decorating technique. The lamp covers are cut and sewn to fit an Ikea lamp . I made three different ones, so I can change the look of the lamp.

Before the spring comes

This is my first woven scarf!! ... I mean, hmm hmm...before it was woven, of course. A bit of order in the yarn chaos, and eventually... it's wrapped around my neck. I'm learning to weave in a rush to complete a few scarves before the warm weather arrives...

Busy days

Last week I visited the Knitting and Stitching Show at RDS in Dublin. I dedicated a day and a half to the show, the first day to see the exhibitions and browse the stalls and the second day to buy things. I thought it was a good way to avoid rushing through...

A taste of autumn in Dublin

I was back in the dirty old town for five days. I met my friends, went to my favorite places, visited the Knitting and Stitching Show , got dripping wet, then a sore throat and a cold, and ate some delicious carrot cake. I loved being there again.
